[Cooperation with correct usage of ambulance service]
The number of emergency ambulance call outs last year was 50,680. This means that approximately one in 23 city residents used an ambulance, and that there was one call out every 10 minutes.

Ambulances are for the use of those with injuries and emergency illnesses who need to be urgently transported to hospital. Calling an ambulance to take you to a hospital because you think you will get priority treatment and because it is free or for other such reasons could cause delays for those really in need of an ambulance. This could result in the loss of a life that could have been saved.
Before calling an ambulance please consider again whether you can take your own vehicle or a taxi to the hospital. In cases when you do not know which hospital to go to, the Saitama Emergency Medical Care Center (048-824-4199)
offers 24-hour medical care information (excluding dental and psychiatric services).
In addition, we can introduce a Saitama Fire Department-approved private transport service to transport patients for admittance, outpatient appointments and discharge.
We ask for everybody’s cooperation.
