Foreign Resident Registration
Foreign nationals who plan to stay in Japan for more than
90 days must file for Foreign Resident Registration and be
issued a Certificate of Alien Registration. Applications are
accepted at the Ward Community Service Division of the ward
office for the ward where they reside.
Those who are 16 years of age or older must apply in person.
For those who are 15 years of age or under or those who cannot
apply in person due to sickness or physical disabilities,
a family member living in the same household may apply on
their behalf.

Changes |
If you change your address, name,
nationality, occupation, place of work, residence status
or authorized period of stay, apply within 14 days after
such change was made. |

· Document to verify the change (Document to verify the change is not required if you change only your address) |
Re-issuance/
renewal of Certificate
|
In case of a lost or damaged Certificate,
apply within 14 days after discovery of the loss. For
renewal, apply within the 30 days before expiration. *
Applications cannot be accepted before this period. |
· Passport (Passport is not required if the applicant does not have one.)
· Two photos for those over 16 years old
(No background, no hats, length 4.5cm x width 3.5cm, taken within the previous 6 months)
· Certificate of lost property |
If you are moving out of the City of Saitama, you do not have
to file your application in the City, but must file for a change
of address in the municipality where you are moving to. |
