Routine Vaccination for Students

As parents/guardians, you are undoubtedly paying careful attention to the daily upkeep of your child’s health.
An important part of this are Routine Vaccinations which are administered according to the Vaccination Law, which stipulates the types of vaccinations, the number of doses and the age at which they are to be received. For children, who do not have natural immunity against infectious diseases, vaccination plays a critical role in safeguarding their health by protecting them against infections and contraction of diseases, reducing symptoms and preventing prolonged illnesses. As such, please check your Maternal and Child Health Handbook (母子健康手帳) for your child's Routine Vaccination progress. If your child has not received any of the vaccinations below, please take this opportunity to get him/her vaccinated as soon as possible.

Types of Routine Vaccines, Applicable Ages and Number of Shots

The cost of the following routine vaccines which are stipulated by law will be borne under public expenses (free of cost) provided that the child is within the eligible age range for that vaccination.

* If your child has not completed his or her vaccinations, please consult with your ward’s health center.

* Please contact your ward health center if you do not have the coupon.
4) Eligibility Certificate of Medical Subsidy for Children
　※ If you do not have a routine vaccination coupon, please get it directly from your ward health center
　※ In this case, please bring your Mother and Child Health Handbook and photo ID.

1. Other Information

Each vaccine has its age-appropriate vaccination schedule. Children who, for whatever reason, were not immunized at the standard vaccination age but are still within the age range stipulated by law can receive their vaccinations as usual.

Measles and Rubella Routine Vaccinations Stage 2

The Measles virus is highly contagious and can be spread easily through sneezing, coughing and physical contact. If infected, the main symptoms may include a high fever of 38 degrees Celsius or more, coughing and skin rashes. It may also lead to secondary infections such as pneumonia or complications such as encephalitis as a result of a weakened immune system.
The objective in doing two injections instead of one is to increase antibody levels and ensure even greater protection against diseases. We therefore ask that you get Stage 2 of the Measles/Rubella (MR) Combination Vaccine.
