Waste Disposal

1. Place waste in a transparent or semi-transparent bag and place it outside for collection on the designated day by 8:30am (For areas that collect combustible waste early in the morning, please put it out by the designated time decided by your district or by 5:30am).

2. Black bags cannot be collected as the contents cannot be seen.

3. The large amounts of trash put out when moving houses can also not be collected.

4. Local residents are responsible for looking after the waste collection points in their neighborhood and keeping them tidy.

Manners When Taking Out Your Garbage

1. Please sort recyclable items before disposing of them.

2. Do not dispose of injection syringe needles at collection stations. Return injection syringe needles to medical facilities.

3. Do not take out your garbage before the collection day.

4. Do not take out your garbage after collection.

5. Please drain the water of food scraps before disposal.

6. Tightly secure the garbage bags before disposal so that the garbages do not fall out.

7. Make sure your waste bags are securely placed inside the net.

Large-Sized Waste and Specially Designated Items that are Difficult to Handle

Handling Fees:

Individual Curbside Pickup

Regardless of whether it is burnable or unburnable waste, any item that measures over 90cm and less than 2m on its longest side will be treated as large-sized waste; and specially designated items that are difficult to handle will not be collected at the collection station.

Direct Disposal

Direct disposal on Saturdays, national public holidays and end of the year are available by reservation only.

In recent years, traffic jams have disrupted the daily lives of residents due to the increased number of direct disposals at waste handling facilities in Saitama City.

As of December 7, 2019, direct disposals at each waste-handling facility on Saturdays, national public holidays and end of the year are available by reservation only. Please make a reservation prior to your disposal. (Reservation not required for weekdays.)

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Please note that there is a limit on the number of reservations per day.

Each household may not make a new reservation until the day after the reserved date of direct disposal.

You can make a reservation 2 weeks prior to your direct disposal date.

Reservations are not required for persons with hearing impairment and speech disorder. Please provide proof of disability at the entrance.
