Moving-out Procedures (Moving to another municipality from Saitama City)
If you are moving to a different municipality, you must inform and submit a moving-out notification at your current municipality within one month before your moving date.
Required documentations:
- Identification document (driver’s license, residence card, passport, etc)
- Seal (hanko)
Moving-in Procedures (Moving to Saitama City from another municipality)
Please submit a moving-in notification at your new municipality within 14 days of moving in.
Required documentations:
- Identification document (driver’s license, passport, etc)
- Seal (hanko)
- Residence card or Special Permanent Resident Certificate
- Passport of all household members whom moved in from overseas
- A move-out certificate issued by the municipality in which you have moved out of
*Only if you have moved from a different municipality.
Moving within Saitama City
You must notify the Ward Community Service Division at the ward office of your new address within 14 days of moving.

Residence card or Special Permanent Resident Certificate
