Family Support Center

The Family Support Center introduces childcare workers who look after children when their parents are not able to due to work or illness. Childcare services are provided at the house of the childcare worker who looks after the child or children. You can also request pick up from and drop off at daycare centers or After School Children’s Clubs. This service is not available on short notice. Please register in advance.

Eligibility:

Children who are elementary school 6-graders or younger

Cost:

  ·   700 yen/hour (Monday to Saturday, 7:00 am – 7:00 pm)
  ·   800 yen/hour (Outside regular hours, Sundays and public holidays.)

Childcare Helper Service

“Childcare Helpers” will visit the homes of parents who are unable to cook, clean or take care of their children due to illness or injury and assist them with housework and childcare, for a fee. A parent must be at home during this time. Visits cannot be arranged on short notice. Please register for the service in advance.

Eligibility:

  ·   Pregnant women who are ill
  ·   Ill persons raising children in grade six of elementary school or younger 

Cost:

1,000 yen/hour (changes according to your household income)

Emergency Childcare Support Service

The Saitama Emergency Support Center introduces childcare workers who look after children when their parents have unexpected work and cannot find anyone to take care of them, or when parents are unable to take a day off from work when their child is sick. Childcare services are provided either at the house of the childcare worker who looks after the child or at your home. You can also ask to have your child spend the night at the childcare worker’s home if you are unable to return home because of work.

Cost:

  ·   1,000 yen/hour (Regular Hours: 8:00 am – 8:00 pm)
  ·   1,200 yen/hour (Outside Regular Hours)
  ·   10,000 yen/overnight stay

Temporary Childcare

Temporary Childcare is a service whereby children are taken care of at a daycare center when parents are unable to care for them for reasons such as the following:

  ·    Parent is ill or hospitalized
  ·    Children cannot be taken care of at home due to fire or accidents
  ·    You are away on work for up to 3 days per week. 

This service is not available on short notice. Please make requests in advance. There is a limit on the number of children that can be cared for at any one time. Mother and Child Temporary Protective Services

Mother and Child Living Support Facilities provide temporary care for mothers and their children who require immediate protection because they have no place to live or for other similar reason.
