Description: |
At the time of designation, this Japanese torreya (Torreya nucifera) measured 24 meters tall, with a trunk circumference of 2.55 meters and a base circumference of 5.2 meters. Four large trees stand in a row that stretches from north to south between the temple gate and the main hall. Three of these trees, excluding the ginkgo, are designated cultural properties. This tree stands between the Castanopsis and ginkgo trees. The branches from the upright main trunk are blocked by the ginkgo tree on the south side and are unevenly distributed on the east and north sides, but the tree is growing well. |
