Description: |
The first itaishitoba stele is from August 19, 1376, total height 115.8 cm. The second itaishitoba stele is from July 4, 1381, total height 118 cm. The third itaishitoba stele is from February 4, 1484, total height is 91.4 cm. The three steles above are marked with the six-character invocation of Amida (Amitabha) Buddha. The fourth stele is marked with the seed-syllable for Amida (Amitabha) Buddha flanked by those for Sho Kannon (Avalokitesvara) and the bodhisattva Seishi (Mahasthamaprapta). This arrangement is called the Amitabha Triad. Dated September 20, 1551, the stele’s total height is 84.1 cm. |
