Description:

At 2.57m tall, this hatted square pillar koshin tower is the largest in the city and has a three-dimensional carved sculpture of Shomen Kongo seated on an evil demon on top.

The body of the tower has a relief carving depicting, from top to bottom, two children, an image of what appears to be a guardian deity, two chickens, and three monkeys.

It was built by Mokuemon Yamaguchi of Tsuji Village in 1742 and used to be located along the old highway that passed in front of Akiba Shrine leading to Kawagoe.

Although it differs slightly in detail from the "Koshin Tower of Oyamato Shrine," it is basically the same in shape. Despite being made after the golden age of Koshin construction, this tower stands as an excellent work of art.
